In this episode of The Ultimate Traffic Lawyer Podcast I talk about what it really means to be cited with a “traffic infraction” by the cops.
00:30 – Does traffic infraction mean your insurance rates will be affected?
00:44 – traffic infraction defined.
01:03 – how to find out if your traffic infraction is a moving violation.
01:40 – what to do if you aren’t sure if your traffic infraction is a moving violation.
Not all Traffic Infractions are Moving Violations
Not a week goes by that we don’t get someone calling our office asking us whether or not the fact that they were cited for a “traffic infraction” will hurt their insurance premiums. Most of the time the question comes on the heels of being cited with using a cell phone or not wearing a seatbelt. p>
The trouble arises because most people believe those types of citations won’t affect their insurance rates, but are confused by the fact that they are being charged with a “traffic infraction.” They are unsure of whether or not that designation makes the ticket a moving violation for insurance purposes.
If you want to know the answer to that question, check out the podcast!
In this Episode I Talk About:
- What the definition of a traffic infraction is;
- Why a traffic infraction may or may not be a good thing;
- How you can ensure that you don’t get the answer wrong; and
- Much much more!
